Medicine Ball Throw Stability Ball
Demonstration
Instructions
- Set up safely: Place a stability ball on a non-slip surface with clear space in front of you. Use a light medicine ball and a reliable partner or a suitable wall target.
- Find a stable bridge position: Sit on the ball, walk the feet forward, and roll down until the upper back and shoulders rest on the ball. Keep feet flat, knees bent, hips lifted, and the body aligned from knees through shoulders.
- Hold the ball at the chest: Brace the abdomen and hold the medicine ball with both hands at mid-chest, keeping the elbows slightly below shoulder height.
- Throw forward: Drive the ball straight forward from the chest by extending the arms smoothly. Keep the hips level and avoid rolling or twisting on the ball.
- Receive with control: Catch the returning ball with soft elbows, bring it back to the chest, and re-establish balance before the next repetition.
- Finish safely: Lower the hips, walk the feet back toward the ball, and stand up carefully. Stop if you cannot maintain stable footing or control of the ball.
