Scapular Pull-Up

A small hanging movement performed by lowering the shoulder blades while keeping the elbows straight. It practices active shoulder control without a full pull-up.

Demonstration

Instructions

  1. Hang from a secure pull-up bar with an overhand grip around shoulder width, arms straight and feet clear of the floor.
  2. Without bending your elbows, draw your shoulders away from your ears to lift your body a few centimeters.
  3. Pause briefly, then slowly let your shoulders rise to return to the starting hang.
