Belt Squat

A squat on a belt-squat machine where a belt around the pelvis carries the resistance instead of a load resting on the shoulders.

Demonstration

Instructions

  1. Fit the belt around your pelvis and attach it to the machine as instructed. Stand on the platform with feet about shoulder-width apart, take up the load, and release the safety support.
  2. Brace your torso and bend your hips and knees to squat under control, keeping your heels planted and knees tracking in the direction of your toes.
  3. Push through your feet to stand up. After the set, re-engage the safety support before detaching the belt.
