Field Sports

Field sports are outdoor or indoor games played on a marked field that typically combine running, changes of direction, and sport-specific skills. They develop cardiovascular fitness, speed, agility, coordination, and lower-body endurance, supporting general conditioning and athletic performance.

Technique tips

  1. Prepare for changes of direction by keeping your center of mass low and your steps short when approaching a turn.
  2. Increase intensity gradually, especially at the start of a session or after a break.
  3. Stay aware of space to reduce avoidable collisions with other participants or field boundaries.
  4. Drink fluids as needed and stop activity if you feel unwell, dizzy, or unable to control your movement safely.
