Seated Floor Knee Tuck

The seated floor knee tuck is a bodyweight abdominal exercise performed while sitting on the floor and drawing the knees toward the torso. It mainly trains the abdominals and hip flexors while requiring control of the trunk. It supports core strength and body control.

Demonstration

Instructions

  1. Sit on the floor with your knees bent, feet together, and hands on the floor slightly behind your hips for support.
  2. Lean back slightly, lift your feet from the floor, and keep your chest lifted.
  3. Draw both knees toward your torso as you curl your pelvis and brace your abdominals.
  4. Slowly extend your legs away from you without letting your feet touch down or your lower back collapse.
  5. Repeat with controlled movement, then lower your feet and sit upright to finish.

Technique tips

  1. Keep the movement smooth rather than swinging your legs.
  2. Use a smaller leg extension if you cannot maintain a stable lower back.
  3. Press lightly through your hands for balance, but avoid pushing hard enough to shift the work away from your abdominals.
  4. Exhale as the knees come in and inhale as the legs extend.
