Band Quad Stretch

The Band Quadriceps Stretch uses a resistance band to assist knee flexion and lengthen the front of the thigh. It primarily targets the quadriceps and can help support lower-body mobility and flexibility. The band allows you to control the intensity without forcing the stretch.

Demonstration

Instructions

  1. Set up: Lie face down with both legs extended and loop a resistance band around one foot, holding the ends in the same-side hand.
  2. Position: Keep your hips level, gently brace your abdomen, and keep the working thigh in contact with the floor.
  3. Stretch: Slowly bend the working knee and use the band to guide the heel toward the glute until you feel a mild stretch across the front of the thigh.
  4. Hold and switch: Breathe steadily and hold without bouncing. Slowly release, then repeat on the other side.

Technique tips

  1. Use light tension: The sensation should be a comfortable pull, not sharp pain or joint pressure.
  2. Keep the thigh down: Avoid lifting the hip or arching the lower back to bring the heel closer.
  3. Move slowly: Do not yank the band or bounce at the end range; ease out if the stretch becomes uncomfortable.
