Trampoline Jumping

Trampoline jumping is a continuous cardiovascular activity performed by bouncing rhythmically on a trampoline. It develops aerobic fitness, coordination, balance, and lower-body endurance, particularly through the calves, thighs, and glutes. It can support general conditioning and enjoyable low-impact cardio training.

Instructions

  1. Check the trampoline is stable, dry, clear of objects, and suitable for one person at a time.
  2. Stand near the center with feet about hip-width apart, knees softly bent, and arms relaxed by your sides.
  3. Begin with small, controlled bounces, pushing gently through the feet and landing softly on the middle of the mat.
  4. Keep your chest tall, gaze forward, and core lightly braced while allowing your knees and ankles to absorb each landing.
  5. Maintain an even rhythm for the planned duration; use small arm movements for balance rather than large swings.
  6. Slow the bounce gradually before stepping off, and stop immediately if you lose control, feel dizzy, or experience pain.

Technique tips

  1. Land quietly with soft knees; avoid locking the knees or landing stiff-legged.
  2. Keep jumps low until your balance and rhythm are consistent, especially when beginning.
  3. Use the center of the mat and avoid attempting flips, twists, or high jumps during basic cardio bouncing.
  4. Breathe steadily and choose a duration that lets you maintain controlled landings.
